In the streets of Dhaka...
Bengali Students
On our way back from Grameen Bank this afternoon, we met some beautiful girls wearing their school uniforms, and it was really impressing to see such a group stand out :) After a friend's advice for me to be more present in my pictures.. I decided to take this one with them..
As for the picture's composition, you can notice the small boy who seems to be aside but is yet very present.. that's why in the second picture I took of the girls alone, I sort of told him to stand with them, and the pretty bengali girl grabbed him into the "frame" as if she knew him from before and looked so caring ... I loved that :)

Market, Kids, Traditional Clothes
It is advised for women to wear the traditional clothes, long shirts over large pants and a scarf on top to cover the chest.. for confortable walking and discretion
So I went to the market located in the Ground Floor of The Grand Prince Hotel where I am staying and bought a lovely light blue "outfit" , asked for its name but I can't remember it, will get back to you!
The fruit market looks simply attractive because of all the beautiful colors !
Kids in the street stopped in front of us stretched their arms and with BIG smiles said "how are you?" as if for a second they became some real american business men..like professionals who are nevertheless filled with energy, laughter and life..they love to pose for pictures and love to shake hands with foreigners... !
I will see them tomorrow... and after tomorrow :)
Grameen Bank - First Day
So... mm hello Sir... do u think I should go walking or take a cab? (knowing that GB head Office is only 1/2 km away)
Mam, you can go walking... or take Riksha... (Ok Riksha must be "taxi" in Bengali)
but oh no...its a bike with seats in the back.. a real means of transportation in Dhaka and even more in the Villages..
I am going to the Bank with another american girl I had just met, Jessy...we are at least 20 trainees living in the same hotel...
This hotel deals with grameen bank employees like VIP...and is truly located close by...
So back to my Riksha...Bikes? okay no problem..I can ride bikes :D
but no wait...It's a 10 year old kid that's going to be riding Jessy and I in the back "seats"
he must be strong...he must be really strong...God bless him..
Pictures for details...
...I drive, you walk, he pedals, we cross, they drive, he walks, we stand, we watch...

Arrival to Dhaka
My plane landed in Dhaka, Bangladesh this morning at 4:25 am
It was raining cats and dogs..the streets were empty but yet very surprising...Eyes stuck to the window...I can see the beautiful green trees and feel the humidity outside as the rain drops cover up every inch of the microbus the hotel had sent to pick me up
People (men and kids) riding bikes under the rain and pulling whatever they intend to sell today..Some cars were stuck in the middle of the street because of the rain level..and others were driving in the opposite direction, coming..toward..us!...
...There's something about this City.. :)
